zip and rar

Postby danrobin » Mon Sep 10, 2012 6:44 pm

I'm having a problem when downloading zip files that have the rar files in each zip. What it is doing is extracting each zip file to its folder filename. So i'm getting a lot of folders with the rar file in the folder name. This started with the last version 6.40RC2. What would I check in the setting to just have all the zip files unzip in one folder ?

So, it's rars with zips inside that contain rars? or is it zips that have PAR files?

Basically the unrar path is used for all files that have par files so, you might want to check your unrar path. It might be problematic. I'll have to think about it. I'm pretty sure the issue is the unrar path.

Ok I will check that out. Now Im getting another problem. When I D/L a mp3 or jpg file it puts them into a separate folder for each one. These files aren't zipped or rared. So if i do 10 mp3 files it makes 10 folders and one file in each folder.

What do you have the download path set to? Depending on how you have the download path set, that might be what you're telling Newsbin to do.

I have everything set to this D:\Downloads\$(GROUP)\$(FILENAME)\ for the main D/L folder, nzb files and Unrar folder. I didn't have a problem till i did the upgrade to the 6.40B3 I don't know if i messed it up or not. Should I change these ?

$(Filename) is why they're all getting unique folders. Each filename is unique so, each folder will be unique.

If you're trying to use the NZB Filename, you'll want $(NZBFILE) instead.
