can i disable splash screen?

I am using the latest beta version 6.40 build 2056
every time i open newsbin i see the splach screen. i only see an option to disable MOTD. how do i disable the spash screen? is there an option I'm overlooking?

If I follow you, you're probably referring to something I wouldn't call a splash screen, it's indicating that Newsbin is doing some work before you can actually get at the GUI. It's in lieu of the program appearing to be locked up. Those tasks can be significant if you have, for example, a really large list left over in the download queue from the last session, but for a clean startup, should be pretty fast.

Well, you know, you're right - it's a splash screen. It's only up as long as it needs to be and isn't there to advertise, etc., however. AFAIK, there's no way to disable it.

The windows that pops up and down is probably the one that loads the download list. It pops up, starts to load and if there's not much or nothing there, it drops pretty quick.

There is no splash screen anymore on 6.40.

yes it does dissapear pretty quickly. but I dont recall seeing anything with version 6.34, but i could be wrong.
