Newsbin stopped downloading

Postby nsane » Sun Sep 16, 2012 6:36 am

everything been fine till the other day when downloads stopped in the middle of the que and won't start back up again even after rebooting the pc,
the cache at the bottom reads 96/100,
i know i'm not getting isp throttled since i download a different newsreader just to see if that was the problem, worked just fine.

A while back i had this problem and had to delete some file, before it would start back again, just can't remember which one it was, i already cleared the download windows and went into the app data and deleted the downloads.db3, that wasn't it, i can load up a new nzb and it still won't do anything.
suggestions please?

o, and no errors in the log, just says par pausing enabled, and par2repair - multicore enabled.
my pc has a core i7-2600k and 8gig of ram in it on a sata3 seagate hd. plenty of free space

welp, found out what the problem was, when i had set newsbin up, i only had it set to 10 days or something like that, got a new server and was running it for a while just downloading via nzb's.
Decided i wanted to read some posts in a newsgroup, so changed the days to display to something stupid high, didn't think anything about it cause on one of the older newsbin's, it'd auto lower it down, this version doesn't, (version 6, running the latest download now) lol, it ended up putting a - in front of the days to display and that screwed up my downloads, made em stop, fixed that back to like 1100 days and everything works like it should.

You mean "Typical Retention" in the server options? If yes, if you have one server you probably shouldn't set it at all.

i have a couple different ones, i cleared the main one and just put days in each server since one has more retention than the other, everything working fine again so no problems here, thanks though )

well, with this latest version, i can't find the switch for the autopar unrar to stick the file in a folder named for the file under the main decode folder instead of sticking everything into the main unrar folder, yes i seen the folders properties for the autoload nzb stuff, but again, that doesn't let me select to make a subfolder with the file's name, just dumps em all into one folder :/

is there a way to renable the unrar to filename under unrar folder?
If not, which version do i need to get so i can have that option? i'm pretty lazy and hate having to do things by hand when i'm used to having it done for me :P

There's a much more flexible mechanism for setting the download and unrar paths in 6.40.

I'm going to guess you want to add "$(NZBFILE)" to the download path (NZB Filename). In the options, use the "Edit" button to add that to the download path.
