error 10013 cant download any more

Hi all, for some reason the last few days newsbin has stopped connecting and all I get is this error -

[22:44:40] ERROR InterSocket - Error: Socket Open Failed, Host: news.us.Usenet-News.net Error Code: 10013 An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.

I have upgraded to latest version deleted and redone server, rebooted everything a few times but still it will not connect. Any ideas would be very much appricated.

Sounds like your local firewall is blocking Newsbin off the net.

Thanks for that yes forgot about peerblock, been using it for years but for some reason it has started to block newsbin ?

Yeah, don't know why it would touch Newsbin since Newsbin isn't P2P at all.

Did a little googly and found that you need to disable http block otherwise it does interfere. Yeah, baffles me too. There might be even newer ways it interferes with using your computer, but that one jumped out at me as something that's interfered with newsbin since at least last year.

Yeah I just gave access to a number of ip address's it was blocking and all OK now.
