NB 6.49b3 Build 1929 issues

Postby rbswft » Thu Jun 14, 2012 12:08 pm

Couple of issues appeared.

Not saving to folders as specified. Either when loading from NZB or from search. The folder mode is ticked to save to newsgroup name. Downloading all files to the root folder.

Still downloading pars when not required.

The build number is one less than one specified on the download page.

Many Thanks

Go into the options, look at the download path. Select "Edit" then double-click on the $(GROUP) item in the list. This will add it to the download path. You should see an example of how it'll look.

All the download path check boxes will eventually go away, replaced with the new symbolic method of setting the download path.

Thanks, for response.

But problem with that its set to one or the other, not either.

What happens if you want both?

If NZB, then use nzb filename, and if using search use group names?

Thanks

Update.

The NZB part doesnt work , the only group parts seems to work.

The final implementation hasn't been decided yet. The way it currently works is if you have, say, $(NZBFILE) as part of the path, it will simply be ignored if there's no nzb file. You have been caught by a bug, however, and I'm guessing you loaded up the nzb first, then added to the download list. That did work in an earlier internal release, but something got pooched at some point. If you add an nzb to the autoload directory, or setup newsbin to auto-add to the download queue when you double click an nzb, it should create a folder for you. Needless to say, Quade is looking at this.

D confirmed the NZB thing. I must have broken it late.

I might try to get another beta up tonight depends on how today goes.

I think this is the same issue I encountered. I installed the subject beta and immediately double-clicked on an nzb. I expected the files would download to a sub-directory of my download directory named after the nzb file. They did not, but rather downloaded to the main download directory. I reinstalled the prior beta and the problem disappeared.

That would be because you did not set up the download path to do so!

The method of specifying folders is changing in this beta, so the old checkbox based settings are no longer used. If you had gone to the the Setup section of the Newsbin Options and selected to Edit the Download path then you would have seen that there is now an option to use Parameter substiution - and $NZBFILE is the one to get the NZB filename used as a folder.
