Groups tab and compressed Header question 6.32

Postby Teddy » Sun May 13, 2012 11:43 am

Hello
1. There is a setting where I with one click for each group have a single tab?
Each time clicking on group list, right click for a group tab is cumbersome.
2. Is it right the compressed header are loaded?
3. What is the 400 Unrecognized command?

The intention in Newsbin is that you group groups into common topics. "porn" or "Pictures" for instance and the right click and load the parent item and have all the groups load into the same list. So, if you have 10 groups in "porn" you right click, show posts and all 10 groups load into the same listing. There is no support currently for a single right click to load up 10 tabs . I can think about it though.

2. Is it right the compressed header are loaded?

[16:15:50] HIGH NNTPSocket - 400 Unrecognized command

This says your server doesn't support compressed headers. What server are you using? Compressed header make your download up to 10 times faster. When newsbin stores them on disk, it doesn't matter if they were compressed or not Newsbin stores them with the same format no matter how they were downloaded.

Hey Quade,
Thanks for the quick reply.
With each group single tab what good when it comes.
I have Usenetserver, she written they support it.
2 Days ago I had even Newshosting.
Newshosting has also written that they support it, since I have the same message.

Usenetserver and Newhosting are the same company underneath (pretty sure). I'd suggest giving "Supernews" or "Astraweb" a try. They both support compressed headers.
