All pars being downloaded

Just upgraded to 6.40b1 1897.

Since I have done this, all of the pars are being downloaded before autorar kicking in.

Turned on the "aggresive assembley" but still downloading all pars in the set.

Any ideas?

Turning on Aggessive Assembley is only going to aggravate the likelihood of PAR2 files are going to be downloaded when not needed.

Tried with/without and same issue that all pars being downloaded.

Aggressive assembly has nothing to do with par unpausing. The option above it does though. Make sure it's unchecked.

I just tested with this unchecked, I added a block of pars and only the first par downloaded. Lets be clear here. Par pausing only works if you add pars as blocks of pars in one combined set. If you open up a download in the post list with the + icon, select 10 pars and add them individually to the download list so, they're not grouped, they're not going to pause. It's only the grouped sets that pause the pars. Either pars and rars together or PAR only groups.

Just to clarify, these pars are in groups. And all pars in the groups are downloading. The aggresive aspect is unticked.

One thing i have found happening is that .nb2 files are still in groups after unrar has happened.

I have restarted newsbin, first few downloads okay. Only downloads necesarry pars if required. Then when a .nb2 file appears, it then seems to download all pars for the following downloads which are in seperate groups.

Maybe (just guessing) something to do with the memory aspect of the new version.

NB2's are always used. They typically get renamed to their real filename. Sounds like some of the files never get renamed to the real filename so, Newsbin then downloads all the pars to try to repair the missing files into existence. Par properties on the item, right click/properties on the parent item, will show you the block counts per file. I'll bet the files with NB2's left over show zero blocks. Newsbin then downloads all the par2 trying to get enough blocks to repair the file. Even if they show valid blocks, if the unrar fails (which it will if some of the files are still named NB2), Newsbin turns on all the rest of the pars.

I'd hit the + icon on the download list item and check the file state. Sounds like some of your files aren't finishing or aren't being renamed to their proper filenames.

So, this doesn't seem to be a par download problem. This seems to be a download problem. The logging tab should note if the rename fails.

Just paused a completed group whilst downloading the pars when not needed.

The only .nb2 file that exists in folder is the current par2 file its downloading. All rar set is complete and just run manual quickpar and it staes all complete.

Put on Debug logging. One file in the group is saying "AutoParPlugin: general failure UnRar/Repair Shouldnt happen : (filename).r46

Manually used winrar and its unpacked all okay.

Will try and look at other downloads and see if same error.

**Ammendment**

Every last file in the group is getting "general failure" message.

In my last group, it was a small 6MB file, but then went on to download all the par2 files which totalled around 60Mb.

Run Quickpar and winrar and all okay.
