completed downloads still in newsbin not all files are .rar

hi all i've just checked my newsbin and there are 6 files that the progress bar is full (blue) an tht it has download all the data (eg 10.1g/10.1g) but they are still in news bin when i check the download folder there are 2-3 .rar files and they rest are unknown file types,when i right click each file in newsbin try and run a "quickPAR" i get an error message that says "No PAr data so no PAR status is currentley avaiable" any suggestions this is on about 50gig of downloads that i did over night its still downloading item in my queue but there all just turning blue.

I'd hit the plus icon and then open the files up and look to see if they're "downloaded" or "downloading"


What version is this? You PAR error message suggests you didn't get PAR files. A 50 gig download without par files probably won't work. The larger the file set, the more likely the files are to have problems that PARS are used to fix.

on all the downloads the main bar is blue

when you click the -> icon beside each download all files within the download are gey and say "downloaded"

on 2 out of 4 of the downloads it says 87 parts/0 pars under status the other 2 have
90 parts/6 pars

is there a way i can just download the par files again (if they exist)

You didn't say what version you were using.

The fact the files turned gray means that Newsbin gave up on them and just assembled what it had. If you're not using version 6.31, you should be. In the autopar options, make sure ""Aggressive Assembly" is disabled. It sounds to me like you're not running the most current version.

If you're new, downloading 50 gig file sets is asking to fail. I seriously suggest trying smaller sets of files till you get the hang of it. I can just look at a set downloading and get a good idea of whether it's going to succeed or fail. I'd suggest starting smaller till you get a handle on it.

thank you for your help so far Quade, i've installed the latest version of news bin and moved the temp downloads directory off my ssd as per instructions in the wiki, sorry i wasn't clear before when i mean 50 gigs thats about 11 different downloads, with only about 8 gig worth downloading at any given time, i'll see how this goes, and let you know, once again thanks
