Lost 100Gb file on *Crash*

Hey NB users,

I like to put in front of all this, im a total NewsBin Noob.
With that said, I am encountering the next problem.

I lost a supstantial 100Gb file when NewsBin crashed.
When I restarted NewsBin, NewsBin started downloading all the files from scratch.
In theory the files should be still on my HD right?
Why does NewsBin not show them as *downloaded* in the file list after crash, and just downloads everything from scratch.
Please help me, this is the second time it happens, its pretty fustrating.

What version are you using? Assuming you're download to exactly the same folder and have PAR files. Newsbin should be downloading the first chunk of the file, then checking the file on disk and not re-downloading the whole thing.

What crashed? Newsbin or your PC?

NewsBin 6.30 build 1832 crashed (well more of an "does not react" kind of crash), and I did have another map assigned for unrarring.
Altought nothing showed up in that paticular map.
All the files in the download list are still there, NewsBin simple just tells me in the download list the files are not downloaded.
As well I just discovered that whenever exit NewsBin 6.30 I have to redownload everything that was in the middle of being downloaded.
Is this normal?
As well I think I got an massage from NewsBin about it saving an error report.
Don't remember where it was saved though, any pointers?

PS. Could it be made so that the registration information is behind a password.. like the option menu can be.

I'd upgrade to 6.31RC4 and see what happens. You should look in the download folder and see if there are any rar files there. It sounds like you're downloading to one folder and then unraring to a second folder. The first folder is where Newsbin looks for these files or wherever you told Newsbin to download to.
