Filter and delete

Hi, i wonder if i do something wrong. I want to filter and delete for subject. It does filter and mark the subject but not delete. Is this normal? I think i remember that in a older version filtered items were gone from the list.
I enabled the filter for the newsgroup and selected 'hide old'.
Right now i just cheaply filter for words, meaning just the word in the filterlist.

If they're visible and have a red icon then you need to turn the filters on. The power looking button in the middle of the window.

Oh man, i did see that. I wasn't aware off that but it sounds that it solves that problem. Gee, so simple and i failed. Thanks

It's a common problem so, I'd say the fail is mine since I didn't make this clear enough.
