Cannot Disable Spam Filter

Postby Name Goes Here » Thu Jan 12, 2012 6:20 pm

Ver. 621 Build 1534

I have been simply unable to download a rar file that contains an .exe. Add to download list, bypass filters failed. I went to options/spam filter settings and unchecked everything and clicked "disabled" for good measure. Failed. What do I have to do to download a file of my choice? I generally like the filters, but I want to be the one making the final choice about what I download.

How do I download this file?

If you disabled the spam filters and then selected the file and hit Ctrl-Y. It should download. If it doesn't, check the logging tab for the reason.

In 6.30, Ctrl-Y even bypasses the spam filters.

Dear Quade,

I have the same problem with version 6.21.

When I go to filter profiles and uncheck:
RAR Archives - accept subject

I still get the message:
[11:04:45] HIGH - SPAM:RAR Contains EXE Payload: *********.part2.rar:******.exe
in my logging

I even tried to accept [.].exe and exe in the
RAR Archives - accept subject tab
checking it so it will look to these file extensions.

Both are not working either way in conjunction with your suggestion "Ctrl-Y".

On my old machine, which also has W7 but with a mere 4Gb memory, I still have version 5.59 installed and there is no problem downloading a nzb with an exe file hidden in the RAR files.

So unchecking all the possibilities in the different tabs doesn't give the desired result.

I hope you can provide a solution.

Thank you in advance.

As Quade mentioned, ctl-y bypassing the spam filters was introduced in 6.3. It didn't make a difference in that version you mentioned. I would upgrade to latest.

Doesn't sound like you found the spam filters. They're in the options.

Thank you for the reply.

Since 6.3 is still in beta I can't/won't install that version. So I just have to wait untill it will be released later and then get whatever I want.

Excuse me for not clearly reading the keypoint --> install 6.3 beta.

You can disable them in the options. 6.30 simply has the Ctrl-Y bypass. If you disabled them in the options and it still won't download, there's some other reason.
