Crash when opening newsgroup folder (v.6.30B3 - 1718)

This just started happening with the latest build, and I can't seem to pinpoint the definitive steps it takes to reproduce, but *generally* is happens when:

1) download new headers
2) open one newsgroup folder, then close it
3) try to open another folder

If I keep the first folder open, NB doesn't crash when I open the second. It also seems to be OK when I have more than one folder open, close just one, then open a new one. Make sense?

It has happened to me also on 4 occasions. I can generally get it to crash by "showing posts" on multiple groups or GOGs in rapid succession.

1)Select all groups and Show All Posts
2) While the Show All is processing select just one group and Show All Posts for that group
3) Boom Crash

If I restart Newsbin and do a Show All Posts and see a "Clear Memory" dialog flash on the screen it's ok. If I don't see that it may crash again.
Crashed it a few times testing and now it opens, but crashes as soon as I try to the Show All (or even just Show Posts). The only solution at this point is to reinstall.

Finally had to go back to 6.21.

Had no problems with B2.

Running the 64 bit version on Win 7.

You didn't say but, it sounds like you're using "single tab mode" where you only open one post list no matter how many groups you load?

I'm using multiple tabs and went back to 6.3B2 where it doesn't happen.

Can I revert by installing B2 over B3 without uninstalling B3 first?

Yes, just run the installer.

This is still happening with B4 (1747). Not so often, but randomly when I try to open a newsgroup folder.

B5 has some major changes to try to address this. I had to run it on a slow machine to make it happen for me. So, it seems like it's timing related.

6.3B5 is in internal testing right now.

An update for you, Quade. This is still happening in 6.30B5 (1795). Twice since I installed this morning. The first while opening a NG folder after all headers were downloaded. The second, opening the folder while headers were still being downloaded (in other NGs, not in the folder opened).

EDIT: I don't know if this is significant or not, but it happens with a folder that has the most NGs in it (several large multimedia groups).
