Upload does not work

Hi there ...
My Upload does not work ... and i have no more Ideas now -plz any sugesstions for me..
This happends after an Update to the newest Version of Newsbin on my Win7
Think i have had this Prob before and went back to a Newsbin 5.xxx
Before the Update everything works fine !
I already tryed to deinstall and make a new install and have to fill in server´s manually new.
but the Upload still does not work.

What do you see in the logging tab? I suspect you mean download and suspect that the problem is your local firewall blocking Newsbin off the internet.

I want to post something.. so i think its called upload ...
everything work fine i can download - update groups..and so on
firewall did not changed anything (had have a pervious version , also a 6.xx, in same folder and that worked) i checked it of course ... by may be did not saw the failure , because of still not working...
Newsbin just do NOTHING if i add the files to post... they are just listed in the download register .
so there are also no messages for the Upload - sorry

If you can download then it's not the firewall.

In the network options, turn on "Show server commands" and then while Newsbin is doing nothing else, try to upload. Then look at the logging tab for errors.

i allredy turned on the NNTP commands.... in Options/Netzwerk/Server-Kommandos zeigen
But as i wrote there are no messages more.....

Are you picking an active server when you post? How many servers do you have? Newsbin isn't paused is it?

no i can download... but the upload still hang anf if i use the "play" button noting happend
I have 4 Servers config to each 2 connections .. as. allowed ..
active server ?
They are all activated and it makes no different if i chosse another one of mine.. may be i should also try a foreing one ?

I just don't know. I have a bunch of servers, and picked one when I posted and the post worked. I don't know why it's not working for you. If it's not paused, it suggests it can't talk to the server you're posting to. I'd try other servers then.

i went now back to the latest 5.xxx version ..
Just made a Install without deinstalling this new version..
and that one works !

don't know if it's allowed to say here - but there exists better programs for Uploading like JBinUp.

Of course there are many other programs....
even once that you needn not pay extra for a search...
okay - but thats not the point,even when i also look for that.
the Question is why Newsbin 6 not work propper with the Upload on a german Win7 with german language...
I also tryed an english Newsbin Version...
and i have really no idea why...
I have had that Problem a year ago ...
and all i could everytime do ... is to went back to an old version.
so i begin to think that may be the version is buggy .. but then there will be here more relpys with that Prob.
Still dont know..
Still need more sugestions

I was hoping some other people could join in and say whether their posting was working or not and why.

I don't currently have enough information to even guess why it's not working. Something is different between how your are posting and how I'm posting. I AM just posting some smallish files. I haven't tried "text only" posting. Maybe I should try that. Are you posting files or just text?

I assume not many Users are using Newsbin to Upload.
I've made a test and uploaded some files and had no problems.

I post to my test server with it so, it gets a decent workout. It'll upload at well over 140 Mbps using multiple connections.

okay. now i know thats not a gererally Prob with Newsbin...
i also know that your Version on your system (what ever these are ) fine works...
but i also know that my (german) Version still not work with the upload...
But sorry i also have to say that that was not that kind of suggestions / ideas I wanna have to fix that prob.
So i have still no other Idea then to use an older version or delete newsbin and use ...whatever...
may be it was because my english is too bad that i have posted it here my (brain)translater have translated support in a different way....
and of course I have posted it here because i´m too stupid to fix it by myself

first of all: if you want to upload Binaries more than once, use JBinUp. Even the Newsbin-Documentation says:

The binary file posting facilities in Newsbin are really only geared towards the occasional poster as they provide no control over the encoding process used, and no provision for retries if errors occur. As a result if you intend to post any significant amount of binary files it is strongly recommended that you use software optimized for this purpose. The software that is normally recommended for this purpose is the PowerPost A&A software that provides these sorts of facilities and much more.

JBinUp is Freeware, supports SSL and has many features you won't get with Newsbin.

But sorry i also have to say that that was not that kind of suggestions / ideas I wanna have to fix that prob.

it's hard to help you without further information. You're just saying "Upload does not work", no Error Message, nothing else.
Maybe you can tell Quade exactly what you're doing - step by step, every click - so he can try to reproduce.

P.S.: Some Providers are using Upload-Servers which are different from the Download-Servers. Maybe that's the
reason. But I assume you would see some messages in the Logging-Tab.

Newsbin's posting is actually pretty good now. Multi-threaded and yEnc complaint which is more than you can say for some posters. Still it doesn't automatically generate PARS and I think that's a big plus for other posting tools.

Yeah. This is why I'm stuck. I've got nothing to work with. I've tested posting multiple ways and times since your report and it just works. That makes me think the problem might be specific to the server you selected to post to.
