6.20 Download List Problem

Postby Stuart264 » Sun Dec 04, 2011 7:35 am

I am running 6.20 Build 1513 and I keep getting the same issue where Newsbin following a restart loads approximately the last 7 days (at a guess) download list from the groups I have set to Automatic Download and runs through them again, which takes ages because right now it has something like 100,000+ files in the download list, I have deleted the downloads.db3 file on multiple occasions which does work as a quick and dirty fix, but it keeps happening, any idea on a solution as I think one of the data files is corrupt but I have no idea which one.

Probably need to delete "Downloads.db3". It's probably damaged.

Quade, tried that a few times, it fixes it but it keeps happening, i.e. I did it yesterday and Newsbin ran fine, then this morning I started up Newsbin again after a reboot and bingo 40K+ files in the download list.

Where are they coming from? If you deleted the correct file, there won't be any files in there. You're sure you don't have "automatic download" turned on for some group?

1 - Deleting the Downloads.db3 wipes out and files listed in Download, Failed and Wish

2 - The only way something can then be added to the file is either automatic downloads or you manually downloading the files.

So, knowing that, either you deleted the wrong file or there's something that's feeding files to the download list.
