While it isn't officially supported, we have many users who successfully run NewsBin under Linux with a Windows emulator (Wine is the most popular). This forum exists for you Linux guys to share your experience getting NewsBin running on Linux as well as report any strangeness that we may or may not be able to fix. DThor is the resident expert.

I just updated from 5.59 to 6.11. I know I'm behind the times but I like to wait until an update is stable and I have time to work out any problems. I'm running on Ubuntu 11.04, Wine 1.2.3 so I thought posting here might be more appropriate. In general, Newsbin is running well and I'm getting used to the interface changes. My problem is the tabs are on the bottom of the windows and I can't seem to change them to the top. When I drag a tab the cross appears but all I can do is change the tab to a floating window. I can move the tabs with relation to each other but only on the bottom.
I'm assuming this is a Linux problem so I was wondering if there was a manual change I can make to move the tabs to the top. I don't expect any need to move them once I get them on top. Or is there a library I need to add to Wine?
Thanks for any help.

I've never run it under linux so, I can't help. You might be able to edit the workspace.xml to move them around but, I don't know what values you'd have to set.

There is an option on the View menu to specify whether a tab label is at the top or bottom of a tab window.
