how can I fix NZB file ICON (associated files)?

stupidly had SABnzb associate nzb files when installing for a test run. After re-associating NB with NZB files the previous nice icon did not come back, but instead is a stupid box with a tiny NB icon inside it.

I tried re-installing NB, but this did not change the icon.

This reminds me that I wish NB had built in 'associate files' ability that would take care of all this for me... but

anyway, how do I get my (your) icon back for NZB files???

I just right click the NZB, "Open With..." then point it to the program I want to handle the file extension.

I know you're busy and probably blasted through my OP, but if you were to read it again you would see that I already RE-ASSOCIATED to NB.

I am trying to get the full size NB icon back for NZB files. It went away when I associated to SABnzbd and after re-associating with NB the ICON is now a box with NB icon inside it.

I don't know Windows 7 but on Windows XP you can change Icons in Windows Explorer by

Extras - Folder Options - File Types - search for NZB Extension - Advanced - Different Symbol

(I'm running a german XP, so path may be slightly different)

I will check this out, but even if possible, where would I get the Newsbin icon??

I would have thought you could simply point it at the Newsbin binary, and then select the one you want from any that are displayed.

apparently W7 removed XPs ease of changing icon for file types, have to get into the registry to do it.

I did a system restore and it succeeded in restoring the Newsbin icon for nzb files. Was lucky there was a system update in the early am yesterday, so had a very recent restore point before the SAB install.

Still a mystery why proper icon did not return after associating nzbs with Newsbin, it should have happened, right?
