6.20B2 not unraring into subdirectories anymore

Hi Guys,
since 6.20B2 NewsBin does not extract RARs into sub-directories (named by the nzb file) anymore.
Is this intended, or an error on my side? I don't recall changing any setting.

This still seems to be working OK for me - have you checked your settings for this area.

If they appear to be correct it can still be worth trying to click a setting twice to toggle its value off and on (or vice versa). The reason I suggest this is thaqt I know there has been rework on some of the defaults and it is just possible that what is being displayed in Options is not initially accurate until you force a change.

Maybe it needs clarification. I use "Download to existing folder", to select a folder outside the
std. save path. Up to 6.20B1 a folder was created in that selected folder, when the unrar process
started. Now the files get unrared directly into that selected folder.

What do you have set in the autopar options? The default is to unrar into the same folder the files downloaded to.

I tried it with 620B1 again. The files are extracted into a subfolders named like the rar-file (not the name
of the nzb file, that was my faulty memory). In 620B2, the files are extracted into the same folder where the rar file resides.

You notice how "Save to unique filename" is grayed out? In B1, the fact it was grayed out was ignored. In B2's it's working like you'd expect, grayed out means disabled.

So, it is different. How about setting the unrar folder to this other folder, download to a common folder and let Newsbin unrar to this other folder?

Ah, I see, i was just abusing a bug . Well, all I wanted was a folder dedicated for NZB downloads only. I'm quite
happy, that rar files from a group are decoded in the group directories. I assume, when I change the unrar folder
all downloads are extracted there.
Nevertheless at the end there is no real need for that folder. It was just a habit I developed over the time to use
NewsBin that way. I will simply change my "workflow".

I agree with OMG2011. I also miss the feature which extracts a file into a newsgroup sub-folder named for its rar files. It was useful to have the completed files separated from the downloads which are still in progress, especially when several sets of rars from the same newsgroup are in the download queue.

If this feature is not going to be reinstated in a future upgrade, I’ll probably go back to version 6.1.

Hmm pretty sure this isn't missing.

1 - Set Newsbin to download to a folder named for the group.

2 - Set Newsbin to use the rar filename as part of the path.

3 - Set Newsbin to use the source folder name as part of the path.

1. Check “Override unRAR Path”

2. Check “Save to a unique Folder named for a Source file”

Do NOT check “Add a path prefix” Interestingly, if you DO check this, Newsbin creates a newsgroup folder AND a newsgroup subfolder:

Example: C:\NEWSBIN PRO\DOWNLOAD\<a.b.xxx>\<a.b.xxx>\<filename>\filename.avi

That's interesting so, you can set the group twice. Nice to know.
