Version 6.01 Beta 6 Available...

This release has more changes to AutoPAR so it can handle more odd cases and provide better status about what its doing. There has also been significant work to the TCP Remote Control Interface to support the iOS application that has been under development. It is close to being ready for a public beta test. Information about the Remote Control Interface is in the Newsbin Remote Control Forum.

Here is a summary of changes for Beta 6:

• Now reports passworded RAR files in the Status column "Passworded RAR - Paused", unless they have been assigned a password.
• Fixed AutoPAR to always show the unrar path in the properties.
• If no complete PAR files are found, now just downloads them all in hopes of finding enough blocks to complete the set.
• Fixed issue where moving the first (subject) column in a list was messing up the ability to click on the icon.
• Fixed issue where MP3 mode breaks PAR2 repair.
• Unrar to temp wasn't moving the files back out to the folder they belong on.
• Changed task bar icon to only show Play/Pause icon if there is something in the download list
• Changed default to not delete files if the prompting is disabled (when deleting entries from the download list).
• No longer prompts if you delete something from the download list that doesn't have at least one file already downloaded.
• Implemented an optimization writing to the databases.

I am having a strange issue with V6.
On a.b.m.comedy.british

I am getting posts combined with ONLY the pa2 files no actual rar's. I did raise a help note on it last month but have not heard anything about it.

If I go to nzbindex.nl then I get the whole post not the just the pars.

Very impressed with version 6, tried a very early alpha and was completely lost so went back to 5 for a while but now I'm back on 6 and very comfortable with it, keep up the good work

Dexter will need to confirm it, but I strongly suspect it is due to the fact it is a beta and the translations have not been updated yet.

Mark Post Old doesn't seem to be working in B6 either using DEL or using "Mark Post Old" from the right click menu.

It does for me. Are you sure you have "Hide Old" enabled?
If it were only the Del key not working, I'd guess your Workspace.xml was pooched, but if the menu doesn't work, either, I don't really know...

I saw something like this intermittently but, I couldn't reproduce it.

After a system reboot, the problem has gone away. (Sorry, I usually reboot before reporting a problem.) I'll keep an eye open for it in the future. Another thing I've noticed, 'Reload from Disk' is no longer defaulting to the display age (group or default), the oldest and newest dates are the current date. I'm 90% sure this used to default to the display age, but I don't use the feature much, so I may be mis-remembering.

I've been real busy with setting up a new system and stuff, so I haven't had a chance to thank you for the new layout. It is a huge improvement in efficiency and cuts way down on mousing. My aching carpals thank you.
I'm not sure if my problem is the same as kairk's, but the old posts in my b6 keep coming back in some groups, but not all.
After I've downloaded or marked them read with the delete key, they will still reappear as new the next time I open newsbin. This problem is new to beta 6. There must be something corrupt but I can't figure out how to clean it up.
Any suggestions?

I was trying to repro the "Mark old" issue but, it seems to work for me. Wonder if there's some sequence I'm missing?

Not had the old posts showing up issue for a while now so for me that problem has gone away, not sure why other people have it? Maybe start again from scratch or reset the GUI?
