Par2dll.dll missing error with latest beta

Hey all,

First off, I am loving Newsbin 6. Great job! Unfortunately, I reimaged my PC last night, installed stock version 6 and then afterwards installed the latest beta. Now, whenever I start Newsbin, I get the error PAR Repair is disabled - Par2dll.dll missing. Any ideas how to fix?

What version of windows are you running? If you look, you'll probably find the par dll in the folder. More than likely there's something about you PC that's preventing the DLL from loading. Like maybe you need to get all the latest updates.

Windows 2000 doesn't seem to like the multi-core par dll's. That's why I'm asking what version you're using.

I'm using Windows 7, Pro, x64. I did some previous searches on the error and saw the Win 2000 OS mentioned before. But not here. Windows is freshly installed, so I have all Windows patches updated. I also installed QuickPar before installing Newsbin.

But you're right. I do have the par2dll.dll file as well as a par2dll64.dll file.

How about the tbb.dll?

tbb_debug.dll

In debug mode I have these two listed. You should have a tbb.dll in the Newsbin folder there. Without it, the par2dll.dll can't do it's multi-core magic.

I do have the par2dll.dll file as well as a par2dll64.dll file.

I checked the installer code and the only way you could get both a par2dll.dll and par2dll64.dll file is if you installed the 32 bit version and then upgraded to 64 bit version. Is this what you did? Could be somewhere along the way things got mixed up.

You know what? That's probably accurate. I thought I had installed a 32-bit copy of Windows 7 Pro and I think I installed 32-bit Newsbin right away before realizing I had a 64-bit copy of Windows and then downloading the newest 64-bit version of the 6.0 beta. I think I will uninstall Newsbin and just install the 64-bit beta by itself. Thank you for your help with this.
