Incomplete Download Of Headers

The headers of a.b.tv.deutsch.dokumentation are only partially downloaded.Dated July 17th I see 37 complete posts with Easynews, but only 4 posts with NB V6 accessing Giganews. I did a complete reload of all headers (starting September 2nd, 2008) and got only a fraction compared to V5.59. No filters, show all files. What's wrong ??? Running Windows 7 x64 on i5-750 with 16 GB.

Since updating to version 6, I cannot download headers. I tried uninstalling version six entirely, including all spooled files, and reinstalled it with the thought that something had gotten corupted when I upgraded from version 5. The router is set up to allow NNTP traffic from my computer on port 119 and there is no fire wall turned on. The giganews site responds successfully with telnet so I'm comfortable that my server connection is OK. The errors I get are below. Can anyone give me an idea of where to look in my settings for the problem?

Firewall blocking the connection most likely.

In the server option change the "Port" to 80 then restart. If that doesn't work, you'll need to manually tell your firewall to let Newsbin out. If you upgrade and it just stops working, 9 times out of 10 something on your PC is just blocking the connection.

Thanks, Quade! You were right, changing to port 80 worked. I now need to go through my system to find out what is blocking Newsbin on Port 119.

This evening, I installed 6.01Beta5, still the same problem. I killed the group alt.binaries.tv.deutsch.dokumentation and added it new, loaded all the headers new, same situation, only few posts for the last 2 weeks. With Mimo, I see 16 new posts for today, with Newsbin none. Is there a hidden filter ?

I've confirmed that there's a problem with that group. I'm not sure what it is yet. I mean a problem in newsbin, related to that group. Not a problem with the group itself.

Figured it out. It's the built in crosspost limit.

If you add this to the configuration file and re-download headers, they should show up. I'll change it to default to a larger number.
