How do I revert back to v5 ?

Postby chumbucket » Fri Jul 15, 2011 3:41 pm

I'm really not liking Version 6 that I upgraded to a few days back. The new beta isn't much better. How do I get back? I'm really sorry that I did it.

Install v5 again - if you still have the Spool_V1 folder everything should carry on from where it was.

Might have to delete the downloads.db3 and autopar2.db3 files and let new ones get created - I am not sure? I would be surprised if they were backwards compatible.

I got back to v5 and it's still messed up. It keeps downloading the same files over and over and doesn't appear to unrar them either. :(

As itimpi said, delete downloads.db3...

I'd delete autopar2.db3 too.

If that was your problem with 6, deleting both of those files would probably solve it for you.

Thanks everyone. I'll give those suggestions a try.

My only problem with V6 is filters. The UI, downloads, autopar, everything else was fine. But I use filters allot and often change them while I'm viewing a group. Sometimes they don't appear to take effect and last night as I was actively changing the size dropdown, it clearly wasn't working. In due time this will become refined and I'll be back. I like V6 allot.

V5 is flawless for me. I can't remember the last time I had an issue with it. In all fairness, V6 can't match that out of the gate.

I normally don't jump in so soon but after following the development and months of beta discussions I was anxious to switch.

I renamed those 2 files and it created new ones and now it seems caught in a loop. It just keeps reloading the last few NZBs that I brought up in version 6 and cycling through them out of control.

I try to clear the download list or remove from download list and as soon as they're gone, the download list fills back up again with the same 200 parts.

I think I fixed it.
I found this message in the log - [22:49:37] Level: HIGH MSG=NZB Autoload: RAR/ZIP file too large to scan

So I went to the autoload folder and deleted those 2 nzb's and then deleted the downloads.db3 and the autopar.db3. It seems to be working now.

Corrupt NZB. I downloaded it a few times and it did the same thing while others worked. It seems to have just coincided with the usage of v6 for the first time. It made it seem to me like v6 was the problem.

Happens every time a significant change to Newsbin is released. Some people move forward, some people don't. Use whatever version makes you happy.
