This means the spool_v1 folder for that group is basically empty. That's probably why import doesn't work, there's nothing to import. Right click the group, "Download all Headers" and then see what happens. On a larger group, the spool_v1 and eventually the spool_v6 can get into the GB range. It's also possible that 5.53 is too old to import to 6. Still, 5 Mb means either the group data got wiped or that it's a tiny group and you might as well download headers instead.
