Duplicate posts become idle/new after Duplicates list clear

Clearing the list of Duplicate posts causes the designation of Duplicate in the posts list to be designated as idle/new...

The easy solution would be not to clear the Duplicate posts list, but as that list grows larger and larger, it takes longer and longer to load Newsbin.

Why not provide a setting or function to mark posts found to be duplicates, as old (permanently)?
