Group properties - "Use filter" option and display

Postby Moondawgie » Mon May 30, 2011 11:00 am

After having been set to something other than "None", can the default filter for individual groups, and groups of groups, be reset to "None".

"None" is not listed as a optional selection in the "Filters that apply to this group" section of the group options menu. And the last selected profile continues to be displayed in the Groups List window, rather than "None", after unchecking the box for "Use Profile".

I presume that the change could be safely accomplished by editing the nbi.ini file, but I don't know what specific settings in the group and groups of groups blocks need to be modified or deleted, or that doing so won't cause problems.

Using the following sample group, and group of groups blocks in an nbi.ini file for reference, can the desired change be accomplished by deleting the line "FilterProfile=Custom1" (As "None" doesn't seem to be a recognized designation), and changing the line "UseProfile=1" to "UseProfile=0" in each block?

I can't figure out if: (1) My question has no answer to my question; (2) Nobody knows the answer to my questions; or (3) The answer to my question exists elsewhere and that my post is only taking up unnecessary space in these forums.

I swear that I searched through these forums for the answer, and performed a number of Google searches before posting. I didn't find anything. So, if the answer exists elsewhare, would some kindly point me toward that answer please?

Thank you.

Have you tried RC2? You can set it to none in RC2. Setting it to "Global" is the same as setting it to none because global always applies. That might be what I was thinking when I originally did this.

I hadn't before, as until reading your response I didn't know the problem had been recognized or dealt with. I have now tried RC2 and found that it has resolved the problem.

Thank you!

Not sure why I didn't comment. I think someone on the IRC channel mentioned it too.
