SSE cpu support required?

Postby Rango » Mon Mar 28, 2011 10:41 pm

When I do the install it tells me SSE cpu suport is required. Will there be a version that does not require it?

What version are you installing? I don't think B7 depends on SSE.

Regardless of which version, most current and recent CPUs have SSE.

What CPU do you have? Is it an older PC?

AMD Athlon XP

Tried the b9 release. Installs but gives and error message on startup saying "Program failed to initialize properly" click ok to terminate.
You get that twice before returning to the system.

Yeah, 5.59 for you until I fix this or you upgrade. I think the problem is how I built the SSL lib.

Have you rebuilt the SSL lib in any of the new beta releases?

Tried the b14 release. Installs but gives and error message on startup saying "Program failed to initialize properly" click ok to terminate.
You get that twice before returning to the system.

Still giving the same error.

Should be no SSE support required in the B14 but, I don't have a machine old enough to test on so, I just make changes and hope it works.

You might simply be out of luck though, sorry.

I can confirm that the final release of version 6 don't work with an old AMD CPU. The installation works on one of my very old PC but it crash when I try to run it. :(

Not really surprised at this point. As I said, I don't really have anything old enough to test this on.

Good news, the 6.00 release version now works on my AMD system. I think it was your rebuild of the .dll's that did the trick.

Image link not allowed for unregistered users 6.11 still gives me twice the "Program failed to initialize properly" error on an old AMD Athlon.
Image link not allowed for unregistered users I had to downgrade to 5.59.
