Filter help

Postby mankind99uk » Thu Feb 05, 2009 2:08 pm

Hi,

With all the warez posts that are being cross-posted on Usenet, I'm hoping that some kind Newsbin user who understands this regex stuff (total double-dutch to me :D ) can help with filter's that will combat the problem.

How do you filter the word warez anywhere in a post?

Filter the word exe anywhere, for example some posts have
filename.exe, others filename .exe (the space is deliberate) and filename.exe"

Thanks

In the subject reject section, you'd add "[.]exe" and the word "warez" to another line. "[.]extension" will work for any extension. Say you want to filter jpg's out in your pron movie group "[.]jpg".

RE's are just straight matching for simple stuff so, single words will match if you add them.

These posts aren't warez, they're viruses and trojans.

I know that they're all viruses and other nasties that's why I want to filter them!

I'll try your suggestions and see how I get on.
