While it isn't officially supported, we have many users who successfully run NewsBin under Linux with a Windows emulator (Wine is the most popular). This forum exists for you Linux guys to share your experience getting NewsBin running on Linux as well as report any strangeness that we may or may not be able to fix. DThor is the resident expert.

Today I've downloaded NewsBin 5.40 V13 B 8607. Unfortunately when I click the "Files" Tab in Newsbin, it hangs sometimes.
I had this same problem in beta version 11. I don't know if this is a Newsbin error or a Wine bug.

probably a wine issue as nobody is reporting this error in windows

Looked at the dump. It doesn't tell me much. It seems to be dying deep in Wine.

If possible you might want to try a more recent version of wine first(if there is one), then in lieu of that going back to an older version. I'm running it on wine-0.9.37 and have never experienced what you describe. I doubt you'd need to go that far back.
