A bunch of fixes for Version 6.70 Beta 6.

Here is a summary of changes:

• Fixed issue where incorrect error message could be shown if a connection fails when using Search.</li>
• Added error reporting if Internet Search cannot connect to the server.</li>
• Fixed column sort on Status. It wasn't behaving consistently.</li>
• Fixed issue where selecting hide old in an existing post list was only hiding the currently displayed items.</li>
• Fixed issue when adding a file to the download list when Newsbin is paused, it wasn't displaying the correct files when expanded.</li>
• Fixed issue where Local search can get spurious entries if you clear the search filter. </li>
• Fixed issue when opening a new "Search In Groups" from the group list right click menu, it wasn't setting the Group Folder name in the new window.

Yes. If I read an nfo file for example in a compact post that is marked with an exclamation mark, it does mark the compact set as dl. Not sure if this is by design.


Just noticed today when dl many files from one group, the files dl with no problem as it should, however, only some of them were marked as dl, while the majority of them were marked with just a check mark and remained that way even though all files came through. Kinda the opposite of what has happened previously. This is under beta 6.

I'm seeing an issue with the post list not updating until I close and reopen the GoG. Posts from several hours previous will then appear.

Exactly... NZB Load from folder doesn't seem to work.
NZB's are downloaded and are ready for being loaded by Newsbin Pro.

What's the extension on the NZB? I throw an NZB into the NZB Autoload and it loads. Ah it looks like GZ Encoded NZB's don't load.

Problem with server colors for single posts has been corrected. Status bar still shows incorrect values for free space in data/download folder (too high - more free space than partition size).

Yep, server colours seem to be working, I use yellow for Astraweb and see that in the download list! GZipped NZB's are now loading from the File Menu and Load NZB Icon, and now some posts I see the segments and black bar if the NZB is incomplete, still doesn't say incomplete in the post list but release notes didn't say that was fixed. Only issue I saw was an NZB that was complete, checked all the properties, but still saw black bars from Astraweb, so guess that was an issue with Astraweb servers and not NB!

Black bars are always missing posts from the NZB or from headers. Errors from Astra would be red bars.

You're right I haven't looked at the NZB Thing. I'll do it now.

still easy to crash NB clearing large lists(e.g. downloaded files) and quickly closing tabs.

I can confirm Gkars posting - I did go back to v6.62 for the 2nd time after trying V6.70 B6 - my symptoms: generaly unstable / missing posts
My System: WIN 10 Pro German Version Newest Build (not Preview) on a Core I7 / 16GB Ram / 750 GB HDD internal for Data Folders / 2 TB USB 3 external HDD for the unpacked Downloads

Set Font Size not restored after a restart. I just set the font size to 8, restarted NB and it went back to 10.

Files are downloading, but not marked as downloaded nor has the color changed to downloaded. The Status is "Queued for Download" However, the file is in the files tab and it is actually there.

there is no pattern when this happens. files on both sides show the correct status. this group has 6 newsgroups in it.

Edit: I just fixed it.

Dex and I are polishing up a new beta. Changes to how things are marked old and how the icon is updated. Fixing status column sort caused some issues.

I'm seeing the same thing. I primarily use local search.

Yeah it's a search issue. It's already fixed. How tagging works changed to make the status column sorting work and it didn't get changed in all the code paths.

Beta 6
"Mark Posts New" doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure when this started as I seldom use this feature.

You know you can only mark posts new that you haven't downloaded. Download overrides "new". I'll check it out. Thanks.

Manually using Show posts and Download headers on a group collection ignores the subgroup enable/disable option.
