We fixed a pretty major issue that was impacting people who download and view headers. Also fixed a crash issue due to a memory leak when performing certain tasks.

Here is the list of changes:

  • Fixed issue some people were having on upgrade to 6.60 where they would load a post list, it would flash then disappear.
  • New NBI setting to separate out any .nfo, .sfv, .srr files from compacted sets. Set CombineMeta=0 under Settings to break them out. Default is to combine.
  • Crash fix with "Delete all Posts by Poster" and maybe massive manual deletes too.
  • Fixed issue processing posts posted by one posting program that leaves a blank line between last yEnc data and yEnd line.
  • New installer. Hope it behaves better on Win10. Please report any strangeness

You can download 6.61 from the Newsbin Beta Page.

"CombineMeta" only applies to new headers. Headers that are already compacted don't change.

Ver 6.61 Beta2

Filter box does not seem to be working properly - Open a group - select jpg in filter box - highlight all posts with ctrl+A - delete with shift+del - clear filter box - none of the jpgs have been deleted they are all still in the post list.

I cleared the filter history and re-typed jpg but the same result.

Ok I figured it out. Delete IS working but the files are lingering in the display. A reload fixes it. I know what the problem is. Thanks.

I'm a little foggy on the differences between Compacted Sets and not, and how they would display on the screen.

Thanks :)

All compacted sets have a "+" sign to the left of the subject so you can expand them. Compacted sets also have either a "P", an "i", or a blue dot to the left. The last MOTD talks about it.
