Improved compaction logic to catch some new posting styles. Also more minor bug fixes and tweaks. Last big thing to finish is sorting the download list then we will move towards final release.

Summary:

  • Modified compaction logic to handle a new posting style
  • Tweek to compactor to keep subs as well as samples out of the compact set.
  • Fixed issue where age filter wasn't working if post list remains open more than 24 hours and headers keep getting updated.
  • Fixed issue where double-clicking a custom list required at least one server to have header downloads enabled even though it doesn't access headers.
  • Reorganized Download list right-click menu
  • Implemented dynamic font color change in server list. Switches between white and black depending on server color.
  • Made some changes to posting dialog.
  • Make sure that $(XXX) are never sent down to sonarr. Full path or nothing.

NOTE: The Download List is incompatible with anything prior to 6.60! We recommend you finish any queued downloads before installing this beta. This applies to the Wish List and Failed Files list too.

The download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page

FWIW, same issue with Panda Free Antivirus as b11. Had to disable Panda in order to install b12.

I tried to download a file set, but ran into issues. It appears that the sample.mkv + PARs was compacted together with the mainFile.mkv + PARs. So when I double click to download, it downloads the sample.mkv file but not the mainFile.mkv. Not sure if this is due to poor posting or an actual issue with newsbin.

edit: I have sent an NZB to ts at newbin.com

I saw this a few more times tonight. I went back to B11 and re-downloaded headers and the sample files are not compacted in with the main file like in B12.

I loaded up the NZB you sent in B13 and it looks good. I've made some changes to catch more of the oddball samples things.

Thanks for the report.

Isn't the download list supposed to sort properly now? I thought I saw that was fixed a couple of betas ago. Not sure if I'm imagining things or if I should recreate my db's.

Sonarr still isn't moving files to the correct folders & this feature is enabled in the program. Could be certain files I am grabbing, I might need to do more testing.

No. No sorting yet. It'll be in the next one.

It's strange, Sonarr seems to be running 50/50 right now. It works for me and a guy on IRC. Doesn't work for you and cat_man. You have the same symptoms too.

1 - Make sure you set an unrar path and don't use any of the $(NZBFILE) like options.

2 - I'd suggest wiping the downloadsv3.db2 after you make this change to clear the history.

Are Sonarr and Newsbin running on the same PC?

I am having a problem getting it to recognize that a download has failed and to pick another NZB. Been puzzling over that one all day now.

I renamed the DownloadsV2.db3 file. I set an unrar path - I've never used this before so I didn't have anything funky set here ($group, etc.).

Small amount of testing, but it seems that files named properly get moved properly. I am seeing issues with the strange filenames, like CFlI4Wxc0LVX0N0KH1EVMh6I7HQZSHrS4jWKWljhG.mkv or 252b7cf16d5bedfb5fc643e70d4fa7081b8ea3ed.mkv. These are still sitting in my unrar folder. While the other two which have 'normal' file names - Showname.S02.E09.mkv - were moved no problem.

Sorry - Newsbin & Sonarr are running on the same PC.

Hmm I never tried any of those. Wonder if you have to set Sonarr to force a rename?

I have an idea that just occurred to me. I suspect Sonarr requires a dedicated folder for the downloaded files. I mean one per NZB. Let me implement that.

When I said "set an UnRAR folder" I mean specifically in the Sonaar options in Newsbin.

I'm still pretty new to Sonarr so maybe there is a rename option. I've looked through the settings before but don't know them all.

Hope my info helps you with your idea. Just seems strange because Sonarr knows what it is so it grabs the file. I can see the proper name in the Newsbin download list. But the file is written as I mentioned and then Sonarr just sits on it.

I had unrar folders blank in both 'setup' & 'remote nzb...'. I set the unrar in the 'remote nzb...' area, not the setup section within settings.

Yeah, all good information. The NZB doesn't define what the filenames are. They just point out how to download the files. So, you can have a perfectly valid NZB Looking filename that isn't really what the file ends up being named.

This is still a work in progress, undergoing speedy improvements so, I'm not surprised people are having issues. Hopefully it'll get better and better with each beta till it's ready to go.

It has been getting better. I'm surprised you added Sonarr support so quickly honestly. Sickbeard was working fine but I prefer Sonarr so I'll live with the issues for now and I'm sure it will get fixed someday. I don't mind testing these things out.

Sickbeard was a good platform to get started on but devel seems to have stalled and there was never a way to tell Sb that a download had failed.

Beta 12 have a bug that beta 10 doesn't.
While downloading 4 episodes only 2 succeeded, the 2 episodes just disappeared without a trace.
Nothing in logging nor failed files, tried several times before reverting back to beta 10.
Downloaded fine in beta 10.

That's the main reason why I dropped SB. Seemed kinda stale and lacking some features.

Turn it on for what? It already turned on for downloads.
