Version 6.60 Beta 10 Available...

Postby dexter » Mon Apr 20, 2015 1:59 pm

Fair number of bug fixes. Target for next version is to have completed Sonaar support.

NOTE: Local Search is broken in B10. If it is critical to your daily usage, you should stay with B9. It will be fixed in B11.

Summary:

  • Fixed issue searching in groups, was not passing up group info in some cases.
  • Fixed folder modes when downloading MP3 files with PAR files
  • Added spaces around "-" in some filename modes
  • Fixed issue where empty groups get tried over and over instead of failing.
  • Fixed issue where icon and color of a failed file remains normal instead of showing as failed.
  • Fixed issue when adding a file to the download list from the wish list (ctrl-e) was always adding to the top of the list.
  • In the download list, now shows repair blocks in total PAR blocks.
  • Fixed issue during header download, if only one group is listed, the counts weren't counting up.
  • Fixed issue where duplicate files were appearing in the download list when a retry happens in some cases.
  • Fixed potential crash bug when loading the download list.
The download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page

NOTE: The Download List is incompatible with anything prior to 6.60! We recommend you finish any queued downloads before installing this beta. This applies to the Wish List and Failed Files list too.

Why did you shut off the local search in B10?

Looks like a bug. Wasn't shut off on purpose.

You'll need to revert to B9 till B11 rolls out.

I left B9 up on the site so you can download it again if you need it.

As I mentioned in beta 9, still have the same issue in beta 10,I believe is due to overlapping. My files count does not zero out. I have my groups setup to hide old files, but it seems in many of the groups, newsbin keeps showing me the same files no matter how many times I open said group. They are not hiding properly even though they have been viewed now several times.

I have newsbin setup to automatically dl headers at start, and update every 15 minutes. I changed it to 30 minutes, but what I also noticed was that when newsbin does the auto update, it will change the file count to whatever the number of new files, instead of adding them on to existing file count (group has not been opened or viewed yet).

Hope I explained this better this time than in beta 9 post

With the beta10, whenever I open up a group tab, the tab opens but the posts are taking several seconds to sort themselves out alphabetically whereas before it was almost instantaneous. With the larger groups it is taking up to 20 seconds.

Also, after an update, the new files count in the groups tab and the actual file count when I open a group tab are still not corresponding - this has been happening with the last couple of betas.

I'd suggest lowering your "display age" for now till the next beta. I found some experimental code I forgot to comment out. It's essentially loading the group twice in a row. I'm thinking about shooting for a Friday or Saturday Beta. Got Sonaar showing the download list.

HI guys,

having updated to beta 10 I'm wondering if there is a way to edit individual filter entries now instead of making a new entry that is updated and deleting the older one. Prior to v6.6x I used to be able to double click on an entry to correct a spelling mistake or add a little extra to it, am I missing something or is this no longer possible?
