newsbin Restart needed to show new headers

I am running Newsbin 6.55. In the past few weeks, when I download the latest posts for the group, they don's show. I have waited a few minutes and they still don't show. But, if I restart Newsbin, all the new posts are there. I have seen this when there were just a few hundred new posts and when there were thousands. For example, I had about 8,000 posts, ran an update where there were over a million lines, but nothing new showed up in the posts. I restarted Newsbin and there were over 18,000 posts.
Is there something I can clear in one of the files or is this a bug?
Thanks for the help.

What happens if you just reload the group?

If I reload the group, I get the same size as it when I dropped. I also tried compacting the group. This group, is really a combination of 6 newsgroups.

Honestly I'm not sure at this point. Might be worth deleting any files you find in the "Import" folder, In the data folder.
Sounds like the importer thread is dying or something.

Yep that did it. I had about 570 files there, some about 3 weeks old. Deleted them all and it works now. Many thanks. BTW: what are these files and why do they stay in the folder?

GZ files are compressed headers. Newsbin writes them there and then reads them into a database. If you look at the "cache" line on the status bar, you can see a count of them.
I'm guessing you had at least one corrupt one and that prevented the rest from importing.
