"P" versus "i" in circles

Postby RayMark » Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:50 pm

In my view, it is a bug report :)

Run a search in all groups, for example for "WEB-DL"

Look at the latest results

You will see many posts with "+" in black circle (collapsed) followed by "P" letter in a blue circle.
You will also see many posts (scroll a bit up, if you don't see them) with "+" in black circle followed by letter "i" in a white circle.

Both types of posts contain files that can be downloaded and unrarred.
At least those of "i" posts that are collapsed (preceeded with +) contain files and are probably wrongly labeled with "i" rather than with "P"
There are also other "i" posts that are not preceded with "+" and they are not the subject of my post here.

Unfortunately, only the ones with the letter "P" on blue are indicated with "v" when put in the download queue and become green when downloaded.
The ones with letter "i" on white remain the same - it is not possible to know if they are already in the queue, and, worse, if they are already downloaded.

Because both types of posts seem to be the same in the sense that they both contain downloadable files, can you please change the "i" type to the "P" type for those "i" posts that are preceded with "+" on black, so that we can see at a glance that they are being or already were downloaded
Or add those indications to the "i" type posts containing files too.

What version are you using? Pretty sure I already addressed this in 6.60.

The difference between I and P is the presence of meta files like NFO and SFV files.

sorry, before posting this I installed 6.60 beta 3 build 3755 specifically to test if it still was the same, and somehow managed not to see that it was fixed :)

Something is strange anyway.
After running search again after some time, I see some already downloaded items still marked as downloaded, but others - marked as new. It does not seem to depend on "P" or "i" or on the group (if I have the headers of that group or not).
The same letter, the same group, but some remain downloaded, others - do not. I don't think they were changed somehow and now are different and I should download them again.

UPDATE:

because of problems with the download list (a separate post about that), I had to close NewsBin and now, after it was restarted, this issue of lack of consistency is gone: all the posts in the search results are now new, none marked as downloaded. Perhaps that was to be expected. It is not the matter of a possible inconsistency described above.
