ERROR: Report Index Error - No headers to download

I currently subscribe to, and am using Newsbin Version 6.52 Beta 3 Build 3196 to access, the nntp servers of Astraweb and Easynews.

During the past 24 hours I've noticed that the "Download of Latest Headers" for many newsgroups on the Easynews nnntp servers results in the display of the error message "ERROR: Report Index Error - No headers to download. GROUP: <name of newsgroup>.

Is this an indication that there is something wrong with the indexing of the affected newsgroups on the Easynews nntp server, and the word "Report" in the error message is telling me to report the problem to Easynews? Or is the word "Report" telling me that Newsbin is reporting to me that there is a problem my installation of Newsbin's indexing of the affected groups?

I've attempted to resolve the issue using Newsbin's, Post Storage -> Delete Stored Post, and then downloading all headers for each of the affected newsgroups, but subsequent "Download of Latest Headers" results in the display of the same message.

The fact that there might be a problem is of primary concern. Of secondary concern is the fact the Newsbin repeatedly tries download the latest headers for long, long time without giving up.

What can I do to resolve this issue?

Thank you

Server is saying the group is in a bad state. I don't know that it's the server but, it's most likely.

I might set a "Download Age" of 4. Then right click this group and "Post Storage/Use Download Age" then try a header download and see what happens. Maybe Easy renumbered the groups.

if( nMinRec > nMaxRec )
{
Message.clear();
Message<<"Report Index Error - No headers to download. Group:"<<sGroupName;
LogError(Message);
pWorkOrder->SetJobStatus(E_ABORT);
return(E_ABORT);
}

Thank you Quade.

Setting the "Download Age" of 4 didn't resolve the issue.

And I'd hoped that the downloading of all headers for each of the affected groups as a part of my initial attempts to resolve the issue on my own before coming to the forums for assistance would have resolved any issues which might have been caused by Easynews having re-indexed the affected groups. It didn't.

However, with this morning's running of the second of the usual daily retrievals of the latest message headers since I encountered the reported problem, I found that no such index errors were reported by Newsbin.

I'm left with the belief that the problem had to do with something on the Easynews nntp server(s).

Doesn't sound like you did what I suggested.

1 - Set Download Age to 4

2 - Right click the group "Post Storage/Use Download Age".

Then attempt a header download.
