I've just recently noticed the following in the logs

[08:46:00] ERROR Resolver: Unable to find Download data - 1

This was for something posted 1d:01h:10m ago

Any help would be appreciated

Is it downloading? This might not actually mean anything I believe I've suppressed this error in RC4.

[08:46:00] ERROR Resolver: Unable to find Download data - 1

Headers or search? Newsbin has to get the actual download data for a download from either the existing headers on disk or if for search, from the search database.

There are a couple situations where this could mess up:

1 - You add a bunch to download, then shift-delete the files and the delete happens before the files finish adding to the download list.

2 - You show a bunch of files in the post list, then re-download headers. This makes those shown items invalid.

3 - If you're using search, a connection can't be made to the search server.

Finally got back to this issue

Turns out that I have a Watch Topic that I rescanned and then looked all the posts. From there I would double click to download something and I get the "ERROR Resolver: Unable to find Download data - 1".

However if I take the very same search string to a Search tab and it comes up with the same results, then double click on an item to download... it downloads.

So it's something to do with the watch topics function.

What I posted didn't help figuring out the problem ?

How are you feeding the watch list? I use the watch lists every day for both automatic and manual downloads and haven't seen this. Wonder if you named a watch item the same as some other group or topic?

What's your "storage age" set to? How does it compare to the age of these files?

I have one watch list item from "Search". I did a rescan, filled it in with the latest data and tried to download. It's working. I suspect something is wrong with the watch list DB for that item. Might want to delete it in the spool_V6 folder and re-feed it.

I have a storage age of 1 day. I believe it was from the default install.

The watch lists are basically shows, no duplicate names.
They seem to work fine automatically downloading.

It's just when I try to download from a list created from "rescan"

Default storage age is something like 5000 days. I suspect this is the issue. That records are being thrown away.

OK I set it to 5000
I suspect though that will not help immediately ?

You'll have to re-scan. The data is already thrown away.

The re-scan will get the data back ?
