Another bogus question...

Postby SnakeByte » Thu Nov 14, 2013 5:00 am

Is it possible that the "bogus" errors newsbin generates may be the result of newsbin not taking into account existing cache gz files that have been downloaded but not imported yet?

I noticed that I have gz files waiting to be imported and that they are named the same as some of the groups in the bogus messages and just thought that may not be a coincidence.

There's no connection between the two. The GZ files and what headers Newsbin decides to download next are completely disconnected. Range.db3 is where this info is stored.

It the News server reports record ranges that are not consistent with what Newsbin thinks the server should be delivering (atomically incrementing number with no gaps). It reports the bogus error.
