connections tab always blank

What I'm reporting is no Connections status tab, which I usually use all the time to understand my downloads.

I'm running b18 3071
in last 24 hours I've downloaded onto a blank usb hdd so count is good:
49.1 gb = 12,862 songs into 152 folders
...
the connections status tab has been blank the whole time
I normally run 50 connections over giganews vypr-vpn at a steady 12-20mbps
in addition to no connections status, other minor packet losses I don't know how to characterize. Clayton at giganews helped some.

The connections tab is not being used anymore, you can remove it.
The connections are now under the servers tab.

A-OK, thanks. Got it. Was afraid it was a micro-sof style upgrade where a useful feature was discovered and deleted. Now I've got to hack it so it will show my aluminum-foil-hat high-speed connection (a prizm spin-off).

Well, I use the "connections" tab constantly! how can we get it back?
I need it, to have a quick glance occasionally on how many connections I have running, it's the easiest way of quickly checking, I don't want to have to set up a servers section, I don't have one now because I don't need one.

View/Servers is all you have to do.

Pressing the connections tab doesn't show anything, but at least mine still shows the number of connections on the tab itself, and that's all I want, so won't be deleting it.

I don't like the servers tab because the left half of the screen is useless. thanks, amigo.

I don't think it's showing you what you think it is but, if you want to leave up a blank tab, that's fine. I'd suggest trying different connection counts and seeing if that number ever changes. It shouldn't.

Well it is showing what I think it is, changed the number of connections, and the number on the Tab changed too.

So what now, you will make changes so it doesn't show the number of connections on the Tab?
If that happens, I will have to stop upgrading to new versions!! :(

I'm not going to make any effort to remove it but, since I don't know why it's working now, there's no guarantee that it'll always work.

As for you not upgrading. That's completely up to you. You can use whatever version you like. When I want to look at my connection count. I just look in the servers tab.

I know you don't take surveys for new features we want, but you might consider one before you eliminate a feature. A good comprehensive view of the connections shows a good deal about how efficiently our machines are working. The number of connections needed increased some when I started running the vpn. I'm sure some kid with a more recent degree could codify that better.

BTW, you guys are pure genius when inventing new features. I'm very impressed. Just remember that you really can't idiot-proof anything without driving out the genius in it.

Yeah, I'm confused. I look at the servers tab and see all the connections. I wonder if you have the size shrunk down so you don't see it?

I have the 1920pix wide display page divided into two main blocks, one on top of the other. In the top I run four tabs, as they read now: Groups List:(32), Search:(0), Thumbnails and Servers(1). When I choose the Servers tab the display is hard locked into two equal width halves, the left Servers and the right shows about a dozen connections without scrolling down. You do realize the colon is unnecessary preceding a parenthetical expression, or any single item. Save a character. And why not save two more and skip the parentheses, because "Servers 1" is almost as immediately understandable as "Servers:(1)". You know this is one of the tangible clues to my belief NewsBin is authored in Elbonia by extraterrestrials.

I don't understand why the article number and all that stuff is displayed. A simple color coding of the background (green for "doing something", yellow for "ready to do something" and red for "can't do nothing", then all 50 of my connections could be easily shown on the right, and I could stare at the whole stupid upper-left 25% of my giant display that shows an unchanging single server. A waste of good real estate. A picture of some dancing girls, or a metro-sexual walrus could go uppa'left sometimes — surprise me!
