Lots of new stuff for Beta 7. Prior beta's actually let you open multiple Search tabs, that wasn't in the release notes. The Search icon on the toolbar now opens a new search tab too. Also some cosmetic fixes and bug fixes. Some highlights:
- Fixed UAC issue in the installer. The dialog asking for admin access now pops to the foreground.
- Fixed issue with Exit Modes not saving
- Search button from the toolbar now opens a new Search tab
- Fixes and enhancements to AutoPAR, see beta page for details
- Fixed issue with date showing as UTC instead of local time
- Added option to toggle grid lines (some people missed them and asked that we add them back.)
There are a bunch more changes for this release listed on the
Newsbin Beta Page along with the download link.
Please direct any questions or bug reports as a reply to this thread or through our
Technical Support Form.

View menu
Show Grid Lines on or off
They seem to be on at all times
I also noticed in the Options Menu
Windows Shutdon Enabled
was selected.
Should this be automatically un-checked if Auto-Shutdown is not enabled ? Otherwise, like myself you may think the computer will shutdown if you exit

Currently you have to restart to see the change in gridlines. It does seem to be working here.
I'll look at the shutdown thing, thanks. It won't actually shutdown unless you have Newsbin set to shutdown too.
Thanks.

the problem with nzb's introduced in b5 still exists
when I'm downloading from a nzb some files get the correct group path and some not did some testing.
did a get group (a.b.boneless) all the files pointed to the correct download folder export folder save a number off files to nzb. Cleared the download list and imported the nzb.
some files got the download folder d:\download\a.b.boneless and some pointed to d:\download.
checked the nzb and within the nzb all the files had the correct entry point to alt.binaries.boneless so it doesn't seem to be a problem in the nzb file
I'm using win7/64 and D:\download\$(GROUP)\ as download path

B6 definitely continued unraring to the wrong directory.
I don't have enough running time on B7 to see if it was resolved.

Just to clarify, the column in the group pane indicates new posts since last header download, not the 'old' status of posts.

SInce I only d/l headers once a day, all headers are "new", but this was the first time I had seen such a low count on the tab's.

I do the same. I've always seen a slight disconnect between that number and the lines that show as 'not old' (the choice of terms is unfortunate), but hadn't noticed a huge change in the latest. I'll keep an eye peeled.

I'll try to reproduce this. How are you feeding the NZB's in for this test?

Also noticing an NZB issue. If i open rather than save at binsearch, it seems not to do anything, even if Newabin is running or not.
Dropping a saved nzb on Newsbin works. If I remember correctly this issue happend with a lot earlier version too. Or am I the onlyone seeing it this time ?

Saving doesn't do anything unless you're saving to a watch folder. Is that what you're doing? "Running" is what normally feeds an NZB Into Newsbin.

- Fixed UAC issue in the installer. The dialog asking for admin access now pops to the foreground.
Brilliant!! I kept cancelling the installer and running it again just so I could see the UAC requester and click 'Yes'
I also see icons for Scripts and Advanced in the options now, didn't look in B6 but noticed them in B7

looks like it was a transient issue , as is now working as normal.
What I someyimes do is save a nzb from binsearch for a rainy day, and then just drop it on the download list

The Button "Retry the Download" in the Tab "Downloading Files" still doesn't work with Beta 7.

What makes you think so? There was a specific retry fix in B7 that I verified.

"Retry the Download" button
After installing Beta 7 many times:
Doesn't work with "32 Bit Single Core CPU".
Was able to get it working one time with "64 Bit Multi-core CPU" but doesn't want to work anymore after trying "64 Bit Single Core CPU" version even after reinstalling "64 Bit Multi-core CPU"?
When the button "Retry the Download" in the tab "Downloading Files" works:
If you get "430 No such article" the "Current Progress" bar turn red and if you hit "Retry the Download" button the "Current Progress" bar return white and the articles restart downloading from the beginning.

Hmm "Retries" have nothing to do with "Repair".
You're talking about two completely different things.
1 - Retry asks the server for the data again. Most of the time a 430 error is a permanent error.
2 - Repair takes the files you already have on disk and tries to fix them.
I don't get what that has to do with the repair dll's. If you use quickpar on these files, can quickpar fix them? If Quickpar can fix them. Newsbin should be able to fix them. If QUickpar can't fix them. There's no way Newsbin can fix them. If more than 10% of the file is missing, you probably won't be able to repair the files.

The button "Retry the Download" in the Tab "Downloading Files" in the "Download List". The button with the two circular arrows. The button between "Find:" and "Pause the selected Download". (I never talked about repair.)
The "Retry the Download" button is working with version nb650B4 and all previous versions.
The problem started with nb650B5.

This is repair. Has nothing to to with downloading or retries. This is what tries to repair after the download finishes. You said the red blocks turn white and then red again. That means retries are retrying. It sounds to me like the file you're trying to download has been removed from the news servers and the server is returning 430 errors meaning "I don't have that part of the file".
As long as you can download 90% of the file, it should repair. Less than 90% means the file probably can't be repaired. If the file turns red and retry tries again and it turns red again. It's probably not on the server any more.
