6.5B1 Autodownload Problem

Postby Stuart264 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 8:58 am

I am seeing an issue with the duplicate detector in groups set to autodownload in B6.5B1 where if for example file "X" is downloaded to directory "Y" then the duplicate detector works right, but if file "X" is downloaded to directory "Y" then for example moved to another directory then when the headers update newsbin adds it back into the download list and re-downloads it, but it only seems to be the last few hours / last few posts that its happening on.

Quade the problem isn't what I thought it was, i.e to do with 6.5B1 but it is a glitch I have had before as its down to the size of the SIGNATURE.db3 file, last time I had a similar problem with an earlier version the db3 file was about 500mb and I put it down to the age of my 3 year old PC, however this is a brand new custom built top of the line machine and the same thing has happened with the file at around 600mb, I deleted it and now its working fine.

The point I am trying to make is that this shouldn't really happen (limit on SQL3 files is over 140TB) and I think its more down to Windows than Newsbin so maybe if you get a spare hour or so it might be worth updating the old Newsbin repair tool utility to work on the newer versions.

Sounds like it's getting damaged. Might want to back it up from time to time. 500 megs isn't that big. I have some 30 GB Storage DB and 100 GB image DB's.
