I got this behaviour on every version after 6.34 (even on the 6.42)
After some time (I use auto download) Newsbin stop downloading and I don't know why. I tried to delete all db3 files, newsbin still stop downloading (it works but doesn't download)

Next time it happens, look in the logging tab for relevant messages. Don't delete anything just yet, it's far more likely to simply be chunks missing on the server or a timeout rather than pooched data files. You can set your retries to something low, like 1, if it's currently set higher - this is how many times newsbin attempts to get missing chunks(for example if the post is currently being uploaded). It's also possible there simply aren't enough pars to repair the particular post(say, resulting from a dmca takedown) and newsbin is trying to save you the wasted download. Essentially, if a post gets 'stuck', that's supposed to be newsbin telling you something is up with this post and it requires your attention. The status column, the painted download queue progress and the logging tab are the goto places for this.

I just picked up on the 'auto download' part of your question. If you have a really massive backlog of 'stuck' posts, that might cause problems too.

Need more details, then. For all I know, you're comparing apples and oranges. Since you're downloading everything, it's unlikely, at least, that you are comparing identical scenarios. For example, recently dmca takedowns have been on the rise.

In case of DMCA, you have an activity with newsbin with the error article not found, here it just stop

- How much do you end up with in the download list?

- What happens if you sort the list when it stalls?

- I'm not clear if there are any errors in the logs.

- Do you end up with a bunch of failed files at the top of the list?

It's not clear if this a network issue or something else. I'm thinking you end up with a bunch of bad files in the top of the list and that prevents Newsbin from getting to the good ones that still can download but, that's just a guess.

This is also happening to me on 6.42 build 2146

I come back after it has run for a few days and it is not downloading.

I have 20 connections and all appear to be connected. Last item in the log is auto download filters (I.e. nothing special).

Groups set to auto download headers are stuck and nothing is happening. If I kill all connections they are disconnected and there is no attempt at reconnecting.

Again, logs show nothing special.

Closing and opening the software retuns everything to normal.

Be interesting to see of the new beta has the same symptoms.

I'm getting this problem as well with 6.42 build 2146.

It happens would more than 5 things in queue. If I try it access the program it fades out and windows states that newsbin has stop responding.. If I close out newsbin and restart it it continues to download for a bit and stops. If I close newsbin before it stops responding and clear the downloading files list and read the files they download. The problem is if I'm downloading headers it can corrupt them.. but since I've become aware of the issue I keep a backup of those. About every 15 days or so I run into the problem. I can't wait to see if the new beta has this problem.

In my case, newsbin is fully functional. Just not doing anything.

At moment the 6.50B1 seems to work (48h )

Sometimes mine is functional other times it's not. I think the problem still exists with 6.50b1,but it froze so I'm not sure yet.
