Version 6.42 appears to be ready to go. This is labeled as a pre-release but in the title bar, it is the final 6.42. This one will become the final release as soon as some final translation adjustments are made.

The download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

Just upgraded and there is strange behaviour with unrar paths again.

Main Download Folder
F:\Newsgroups\$(GOG)\

UnRAR folder
F:\Newsgroups\$(GOG)\$(FILENAME)\

I'm seeing multiple posts of completely differing names being unrar'ed into the same folder instead of different folders for each post.

This kind of behavior happened before and i believe got reverted.

Apart from the possibility you might well be seeing a genuine bug, just the notion of using $FILENAME in an extraction path looks like a really bad idea. In fact, Quade and I were gabbing about that variable on irc about a week ago, it's a var of highly dubious value that tends to cause more problems than it solves. I think it could work for a certain type of post, but fail miserably for many others.

As I said, apart from any other behaviour you've found.

If you are using the $(FILENAME) or $(SUBJECT) path variables or you are using "Download to Folder Named for Subject", this behavior did change and it is configurable through the Hidden Settings.

1st time I have used this ability for a while, so I maybe wrong but:
I downloaded 4 files via "Download to existing folder", they downloaded to there, but the unrar extracted them to my default directory, is this right?

Do you have an unrar path set in the options? If yes, it'll follow that unrar path. If no, it'll unrar to the same folder the files were downloaded to.

Yep there is an UNRAR folder set, I assuemd (wrongly) that the d/l to folder would override this.
Thanks
