Suggestion for Multi-Monitor usage

Hi,
I notices that the dialogs "mostly" appear on monitor 1, while "mostly" i run Newsbin on monitor 2. Is it possible to open dialogs on the monitor where Newsbin is running? Sometimes I watch videos on monitor 1 in "always on top" mode and it's a hassle to get to an open dialog.

Which windows? I just tested with Newsbin in my left monitor and every dialog opened in the left monitor.

I run dual monitors and never have had Newsbin pop up a window in my other monitor. Can you be more specific what is popping up on the wrong monitor? If you drag a tab off off the GUI and onto the 2nd monitor, like the thumbnails tab, it'll stay there.

When it happens, it's any modal-dialogue. Like the option menu for instance, or any confirmation-kind of dialogs.

Are you running the latest video drivers available?

Quite honestly, as someone who used to work in Linux but is now forced to work in Windows, I'm always noticing scenarios where windows tries to be 'smart' and remember the last place you dragged a dialog or pane to with multiple monitors, and it gets 'stuck' there(virtually any application). Suddenly, one day it's back to default because I left it in the right place at the right time when I quit the application. A remote desktop login will further pooch it. Linux was always very specific about behaviour like this, you could tweak the hell out of it.

I'm wondering if it's more an OS issue than anything else?

That's sort of what I'm thinking.

Most likely. I feel kind of stupid, but I haven't figured out a way to reproduce this. Usually when i freshly start the computer the dialogues appear where they should. After some time [kind of vague], that changes. In fact it switches back and forth. I just saw that there is a newer driver for my graphics card ATI FirePro V4800 (FireGL V). I'll try that and report back if that helps.

Always had the thumbs over on a second or third monitor and whenever I launched NB, the thumb window always showed up on top of NB itself, and I'd drag it over.

Had a silly glitch with a driver update for my main monitor which screwed up the ATI HD 5700 somehow, had to un/install the ATI drivers-- fixed my problem AND left NB's thumb window over where it belong.

Was thinking of crediting the gang here for fixing the glitch with NB but... turned out to be on my end :)

Win7 pro, 64, sp1, AMD 6100 6-core, 32GB ram..
works fine.

Did all that, driver upgrade, uninstall, install the problem persists. Dang ....
