Quade, could I ask what limits the speed that posts from groups set to autoload go into the download list as since I have upgraded my pc to a much more powerful machine with a large amount of memory I have noticed a sort of "lag" with posts loading, and I was thinking it might be down to the hard drive as I am using a Sata 2 drive at the moment until I can afford to upgrade to Sata3 drives.

When you download headers, there are several transformations.

- Raw headers to RV4
- RV4 to DB3

Then automode kicks in:

- Pull data from DB3 to gen the download.
- Downloads are added to the downloads.db3
- Downloads are added to the download list.

If I had to guess I'd think the first two would be slowish. It's a low priority thread that does the work. Second should be relatively quick but, it all depends on how busy the disk drive is. If you have 1 and 2 + downloading all going at the same time. It might just bottleneck on the disk IO.

I suspect its an issue that will improve when I can upgrade the drive I use for Newsbin (Downloads and Newsbin folder) from SATA 2 to SATA 3 but thats probably going to be in a couple of months unless someone like Aria or Ebuyer have s3 drives in their sale at a price I cant pass up on.
