New behavior after new pathing options were implemented.

This may be:
1) a bug
2) something that hasn't be implemented yet
3) new desired behavior
or
4) I just don't know how to set it up
Prior to the new pathing options in 6.40b3 if I highlighted a post in the post list and selected "Download To New Folder..." or "Download To Existing Folder..." via right-click, the folder picker would open to the default download path plus the folder named for the GOG and I could select or create the folder I wanted. Now it opens to the default download folder only and I have to manually select the GOG's folder then select or create the folder I want. I've tried adding \$(GOG)\ to the "Main Download folder:" in the options but this doesn't help.
If I add \$(GOG)\ to the "Download Path" in the Groups List (one of my GOGs downloads to a different place than the other 3) then the folder picker always opens in the last folder used.
As a test I installed 6.40b2 on another computer. To get the desired behavior, I had to have "Folder Mode:" checked under "Options, Filename Options". This box is gone in b3 and later. If it is going to remain this way, I'll learn to live with this new way.
