Data Execution Prevention

V6.40B3 Build 1930

I've had NB crash a couple of times when I've been closing a tab and get a message popup that says Windows DEP has closed the programme down.

Is it ok to turn DEP off or will that decrease the security of my machine?

It crashed again and when I tried to make NB an opt out to DEP, it said that NB had to be subject to DEP and could not be an exception.

Not sure what to tell you at this point. Others have reported crashing when closing the post lists but, I've not managed to reproduce it yet.

OK Quade - I'll wait a bit longer after deleting the posts in the list before I close it.

I have noticed and it might help Quade debug this issue that the crashes happen if for example you have highlighted all items in a tab, hit delete to mark all posts "old" and it will close fine if the numerical value in the tab goes to zero, if its a number then it crashes.

That's an interesting clue. Thanks.
