6.31RC7 Build1875

Looking for what may have caused this issue.

Day before yesterday added hundreds of downloads using 'Enter key' all working OK

Yesterday added hundreds more using 'Enter key' none appeard in download list, but didn't realise till after an hour. Tried closing and restarting. still none of the new downloads in the list.

Today working fine again.

Any suggestions what to look for if it happens again ?

Honestly, it just sounds to me like you had inadvertently focused on the wrong pane and the posts pane never received the enter hit. I really don't think there's any mysterious bug at play, sometimes I've hit a custom key equiv and nothing happens, and I realize I've focused over on the groups tab instead of posts. Key hits are specific to context.

If you're 100% that you saw the status change in the post list but it never showed up, maybe a dupe match? It's unlikely to be permission issues with the downloads.db3 file since it's working fine now.

Each one selected showed the blue circle with tick, so as you would rightly assume it should be in the download list. It was just not there, no dupe, no nothing. After re-starting the blue circle with tick was not present. Selecting again using 'Enter' added to the download list and downloaded without issue.

Suggests the resolver quit. It's the thing that goes to disk and gets the information needed to download after you add things to the download list.

Is there anything that can be checked if it happens again, as to clues to the cause. Or is it a fact of life ?

Logging would probably show a message if the resolver died. If you keep keep the log level turned down and make sure "Show Server Commands" isn't enabled it'll probably be the only thing listed.
