One more fix, the option to change the UnRAR path from the right-click menu in the Download List was broken. This one has no Release Candidate designation in the title bar and will become the final production release soon. For preliminary release purposes, I'm calling it RC8.

The installer now will now put up a message if a single core CPU is detected, allowing you to force installation of the multi-core PAR processing DLL's if you want. The installer is unable to reliably detect the number of cores in AMD machines so this is a workaround.

If you have a multi-core AMD machine, please give this a try and let me know if it's working correctly. I was unable to test it myself.

The download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

Your problem doesn't seem to be an autopar problem. I suspect if you check the logs you'll find a "Failure to rename output file" message. Newsbin tried to rename the NB2 file to the real filename and the rename failed. The fact Newsbin tries the rename 10 times now suggests there's some other reason it can't rename. I'm just guessing but, that's what the symptoms point too. I'll bet if you fed the NB2's directly into quickpar that it would find the blocks it needs and rename the files and/or repair.

it does, but shouldn't it rename by itself? it was sitting like this for about an hour..
When trying to load them into quickpar it did say they were in use, killing Newsbin obviously solved that but maybe Newsbin itself is keeping them locked so it can't rename them?

This is a good clue and is probably true. Now the question is why.
