Astra for sure. In fact they and giganews seem to have the most reliable header compression of the lot.
I get consistently faster header downloads, per connection, over astra than I do to giga. Giga seems to cap header download speed "pre-compression" to about 40 Mbps.
Astraweb, I can get 140 Mbps per connection. I regularly see 400+ Mbps header downloads from astra.

I am currently with astra but I want to switch because I begin to have "a lot" incomplets.
But yes, astra have a great header compression.
So this is why I asking.
Also, is NBP automaticaly enabling/disabling the header compression?

It's on by default. You have to manually disable it if you don't want it in the server options.

I was getting a lot of header incompletes using Easynews but I got around it by setting up two Easynews servers in the Server options - the European one and the USA one and downloading the headers from both. I've never had incompletes since then.
Try setting up two Astra servers as I have done and I think it might cure the problem.
I think most of the NG providers use the same European server farm under different names and this is why a lot of people get this problem

This is what I have.
I have the EU in first server and US for the "fill".
But incomplete with this setting.
I take a try with the 14 free days with newshosting and the files are completes.
This si why I want to whange but I will prefer an server with the header compression.

Why don't you take a blockaccount as fillserver for astra?

Well I didn't thought about that...
But now a little late because I've canceled my account.
But can you give me anyway a good fillserver?
But still no answer to my original question

blocknews.net to complete astra's bad range.
btw: you probably already know it but if you download headers instead of only using nzb's i would
not get newshosting (or other highwinds resellers) but giganews or supernews (giganews servers) or get
a new account at astra.
_____
a bit offtopic sorry for that.

I mostly (99,99%) use the NZB for downloading.
But I didn't know about supernews.
Can someone tell me what to think about it.

If you don't want astra again and giga is too expensive i would give supernews a try.

Usenet Servers in N. America & Europe
24x7x365 Technical Support
Answer to the main question: if i'm not wrong supernews does support compressed headers.

PowerUsenet.
Pretty sure they have header compression and the same reliability as Giganews.
