Purge to display age?

Just wondering if Purge to display age is doing anything. I get the progress bar for each group. But if I measure the spool folder before and after it's exactly the same size. Compact database definitely cuts it down.

Edit: I should mention it acts the same in 6 Final and I just tried it in 6.01B.
Not a single MB is cut from the spool.

Databases don't trim size till you compact them. When you delete, you're just freeing up pages inside the DB. These pages will get re-used as more headers are downloaded.

So, basically this is normal.
