It used to be that when you put it in paused mode, the icon would turn red, giving you a clear indicator that downloads are paused, but with no icon changes, it's easy to forget that it's paused. The red may be a bit ugly, but maybe like a small pause graphic over the standard icon? Maybe can extend it further for limited speed, or when a download is being PAR checked/repaired or extracted or whatever? And of course, make it optional in options.

Using beta10 btw, going to upgrade once downloads finish.
